What's On

During the Summer Season, Skali Ski Lodge is the ideal place for that relaxing weekend away. If you wish you can lounge in a comfortable chair and while the time away talking, playing games or reading. Of an evening have a glass of wine accompanied by an appetizer or a pleasant meal.

If you come up during the day, you can stop en route at one of the food establishments which are part of the Gippsland Deli Trail. Try your luck fishing at the Trout Farm just before Noojee or buy some smoked trout ready to go. There are many other food treats to sample along the way.

Sample some of the finest Alpine country in Victoria on day walks around the Baw Baw Alpine Resort or into the adjoining Baw Baw National Park. The Baw Baw Plateau is a delightful place in summer, with low rolling snow gum covered hills, snow plains, sphagnum bogs, and alpine creeks. You may even see the rare Baw Baw Frog (Philoria Frostii).

You can get your share of thrills and spills mountain biking on the 4wd tracks below the Village and regular mountain biking events are held every year for the serious competitors (following the Chairlift access line). There are also many nearby forestry roads and tracks for the keen.

For the fisherman, there are streams on the road into the village where you can fish for trout during the day and enjoy the isolation and beauty of the deep mountain valleys. Whilst you are off the mountain for the day, you can go for a scenic drive through the nearby state forests and visit the Thompson Dam and the historic areas north of the Baw Baw Plateau.

Village Access

During the Summer Season all roads are open through-out the Village. You can drive to the car parking area at Skali Ski Lodge and drop your luggage off. Limited parking is available on the Lodge site but there is plenty of parking available along the roadside either near the Lodge or on the main road above the Lodge.
